I’m still working my way back to being self-aware, and I’m glad I’ve got this post to help me out.
I was talking with a friend recently about something I just read on the internet that has really stuck with me. It’s about how I’m not going to be fully self-aware until I’m dead. I was thinking back to when I was a kid and I would do things just because I felt like it because I didn’t understand why I was doing it, and I know that makes it sound like I’m not really self-aware now, but I am.
In fact, you don’t need to be fully self-aware to accomplish an important goal. It’s really the act of self-awareness that makes you what you are, and that is only done by someone who is able to have a certain level of self-awareness. For example, you probably already know that you want to be a writer, but you don’t need to be.
For someone who is self-aware, it is usually possible to recognize that you are just trying to satisfy your need for self-gratification, or at least make yourself feel good about your goal. But for someone who is not self-aware, it is usually very difficult to recognize that you are just trying to satisfy your need for self-gratification.
Someone who is self-aware may recognize that they are just trying to satisfy their need for self-gratification, but the person themselves may not have the slightest idea. For example, I know that I want to be a writer, but I don’t know that I am a writer. However, I am self-aware.
And that’s why it is so difficult to recognize when you are just trying to gratify yourself. Someone who is self-aware will know that they have something of value to offer. However, those who are not self-aware may not recognize that they are just trying to satisfy their need for self-gratification. They may not even realize that they are just trying to satisfy their need for self-gratification.
The way to recognize this is to ask yourself the question, “Am I doing something for myself, or am I just doing something for self?” If you are doing something for yourself then you are just satisfying your need. If you are doing something for yourself, it must be for your own benefit.
Saboor, that’s what you are doing. A popular word in Islam that means “beloved” or “favourite.” The same meaning is sometimes applied to self-gratification, but in this case it refers to the self-gratification that a person who cares is doing for themselves. It is a way of saying “I’m pleasing myself.
For me personally, there is a very small minority of people who live by this. The word itself is a bit of a loaded one, and I feel that there are some misconceptions about when it refers to self-gratification.
